THE LINE UP; The past weeks creativity in a nutshell This past week definitely afforded some great experiences for my clients filled with some corrective work and my usual creative beauty. First up on Tuesday morning i created a better tone for an ombre that was shodyly done on my client by another stylist... I made her happy and made her hair happier with a nice Carmel brown tone instead of the orange blonde ombre she walked in with. I followed that with a fun and natural looking highlight and got to head home:) Wednesday was a cool blonde chunky highlight on a very dark haired client followed by 2 grey coverage clients who looked great with warm rich brunette tones when they left... much better than the white roots they walked in with! Thursday was a mostly cut n style day with a lovely highlight with a couple warm low light panels for dimension thrown in to the mix. Saturday was a lovely cool rich brunette on top of several patchy pieces but it was all tied together and unified. The results are and were amazing!

Summer Hair Color Update: The Melt!!!!

Melt hair color is a color style similar to ombre but with more panels of lightness at the top of the hair closer to the scalp(usually more structured than baylayage and probably lightness placed with fine sectioned foils). The hairs base is still on trend with warm tones and honey warmish tones of blonde or light brown but spaced farther apart than conventional full highlights. Im onto the trend with my hair for this hot summer trend, See photos for some great examples!

Hair Tips!!

Fast and easy tips for hair growth, shine, health and long lasting color! 1. Wash only your scalp allowing the shampoo lather created to simplyy rinse through ends. Over scrubbing hair that falls from the chin below can cause dryness which can lead to breakage and short lived hair color. 2. Avoid washing more that 3-4 times a week whenever possible. Your scalp creates sebum which is the best conditioner for your hair and by allowing your natural oils to penetrate the follicle a protective seal covers the hair shaft and improves growth. 3. Use Sodium Larel Sulfate FREE shampoos only. SLS's are a derivative of battery acid and over dry the hair often leaving behind a film which can cause breakage and leave the hair looking dull and feeling harsh. 4. Condition for at least 3-7mins on hair falling from the chin down. After you've washed your scalp, you must condition your ends intensively for best styling results and shine. So, wash your scalp, rinse, apply conditioner and shave or wash your body to take up some time before you rinse the conditioner from your hair. Conditioners dont typically have SLSs' but do find one that is compatible with your hair needs and promotes health (i have tons of suggestions). 5. Always use a silicon free heat protectant when curling, flat ironing or blowdrying your hair (again, i have lots of suggestions). 6. If youre a blonde, never use heat higher than 380 degrees and for all others, never use heat above 450 degrees. 7. Always wait 48hours after a color service to wash your hair since color molecules need about 48 hrs to find a home in your hairs follicle . variations of light and depth

nothing is better for a seasonal transition from winter to spring than letting the hairs natural tone play between baylayaged or highlighted sections on the head. subtle changes create unique and very personalized looks for every client. lately Ive been playing with face framing ombre and letting all the hair in the back become a beautiful rich gold bsed brown! looks like minka kelly slightly but really becomes each clients unique look...... spaced highlights on top with heavier blonde look on the ends of the hair is one of my fave looks all year round!

trust your stylist

trust... a huge step to take as a client sitting in a new (and sometimes often visited) salon chair. with consultation and a stylists open ear the best result will be achieved and sexy hair will be on your head. know that if a great reputation and solid clients follow your stylist, they most assuredly will not guide you wrong and will do their best to protect your hair and afford the style you want/deserve!
