Hair Tips!!

Fast and easy tips for hair growth, shine, health and long lasting color! 1. Wash only your scalp allowing the shampoo lather created to simplyy rinse through ends. Over scrubbing hair that falls from the chin below can cause dryness which can lead to breakage and short lived hair color. 2. Avoid washing more that 3-4 times a week whenever possible. Your scalp creates sebum which is the best conditioner for your hair and by allowing your natural oils to penetrate the follicle a protective seal covers the hair shaft and improves growth. 3. Use Sodium Larel Sulfate FREE shampoos only. SLS's are a derivative of battery acid and over dry the hair often leaving behind a film which can cause breakage and leave the hair looking dull and feeling harsh. 4. Condition for at least 3-7mins on hair falling from the chin down. After you've washed your scalp, you must condition your ends intensively for best styling results and shine. So, wash your scalp, rinse, apply conditioner and shave or wash your body to take up some time before you rinse the conditioner from your hair. Conditioners dont typically have SLSs' but do find one that is compatible with your hair needs and promotes health (i have tons of suggestions). 5. Always use a silicon free heat protectant when curling, flat ironing or blowdrying your hair (again, i have lots of suggestions). 6. If youre a blonde, never use heat higher than 380 degrees and for all others, never use heat above 450 degrees. 7. Always wait 48hours after a color service to wash your hair since color molecules need about 48 hrs to find a home in your hairs follicle . variations of light and depth

nothing is better for a seasonal transition from winter to spring than letting the hairs natural tone play between baylayaged or highlighted sections on the head. subtle changes create unique and very personalized looks for every client. lately Ive been playing with face framing ombre and letting all the hair in the back become a beautiful rich gold bsed brown! looks like minka kelly slightly but really becomes each clients unique look...... spaced highlights on top with heavier blonde look on the ends of the hair is one of my fave looks all year round!

trust your stylist

trust... a huge step to take as a client sitting in a new (and sometimes often visited) salon chair. with consultation and a stylists open ear the best result will be achieved and sexy hair will be on your head. know that if a great reputation and solid clients follow your stylist, they most assuredly will not guide you wrong and will do their best to protect your hair and afford the style you want/deserve!

While i do enjoy the ombre trend i have been gravitating toward baylayage closer too the root for a more pronounced look and brightness by the face. I also dig highlights with more structure by the face as well! check out some pics!

WINTER BEAUTY TIPS FOR HEALTHIER SCALP AND HAIR

winters rough, it drys us out, chills us a lil to the bone and makes us neglect our hair health and maintenance routine often hiding our hair under a hat or scarf to brave the colder temps. wash the scalp for 7 minutes massaging gently to increase blood flow and hair growth letting the shampoo rinse through ur hair and condition for 7 mins as well, rinsing well but allowing some to remain on the ends of the hair to decrease breakage. for those suffering from dandruff during the cooler months (like myself) mix 1 part apple cider vinegar to 9 parts water in a spray bottle and spray mixture directly onto scalp and massage gently with pads of finger tips for 20-30 mins. wash as instructed above and condition and after a few weeks of this routine results will be evident! the scalp will feel dandruff free and clarified and hair will be shiny:) always use an argon oil on hair when wet since thats when hair is porous and the sebum(body's
natural oil) like oil can seal the end of the hair shaft promoting hair growth! best hair beauty tip ever is to never NEVER wash hair everyday. work slowly and patiently with your comfort level and your sebum production schedule and get your selves to a once a week wash! this helps hair growth by avoiding dehydration and keeps color longer for color clients.
